Boost to collaborative projects for French companies

The French government is taking concrete steps to stimulate the development of uses of Web 2.0 within enterprises. With the aim of boosting the competitiveness of French companies.

Eric Besson, Minister of Industry, Energy and the Digital Economy, attended the Camping incubator start-ups of Web 2.0, held January 7, 2011 at the Palais Brongniart (Paris). Camping* is an incubation program created by the association Silicon Sentier**, to help start-up of the web Industry to take off.

There, Eric Besson has revealed plan in four-point plan to disseminate the uses of Web 2.0 within enterprises.

- A specific call for proposals named Company 2.0

- Funding for ten new projects related to the digitization of trade between companies

- Calls for projects related e-health, e-education and especially the cloud computing

- The launch of pilot projects to deploy contactless mobile services in nine French cities

* The Camping incubator – An Anglo-Saxon approach adapted to the business French culture – is a 6 month program to help young companies take off.

** Silicon Sentier is an association of regional dimension involving hundreds of technology companies (Web, Open Source and Mobility) in Paris and Ile-de-France.
